Content Filter Test Pages
If you've ever setup a content filtering system for your home or office PC, you understand the need to verify that it works. The whole purpose of a content filter is to keep what you see clean, for either yourself, or your loved ones. In some cases even outsiders. For those who don't know what a content filter is, it is a service that runs between your web browser and the internet. When you view a website, the content filter scans the actual page you are reading. Some filters will disable access to specific web addresses, others will search the page you are trying to view for catch words that would give away it's content type.
Depending on the filter you use, some allow you to select categories you would like filtered, such as:
- Dangerous Drugs
- Gambling
- Gaming
- Online Chat
- Pornography
- Violence and Intolerance
- Warez
- Weapons
The problem comes after you have it setup. You need to make sure it is working, this involves actively
searching for the sites that contain this type of content. Which means you are likely going to expose
yourself to content you should _not_ be seeing. But, better you than your kids, right?
Using these pages, you can select which filter you want to test, click the page link and
know immediately if your filter is working...
Here it comes...
The Disclaimer
The following links contain vulgar and obscene language. The content is extremely foul and will offend anyone who has any morals at all. You have been warned. By clicking on any of the following links you agree to understanding what is behind those links and will not blame or hold us responsible for anything that might offend you.
Seriously, the following links contain ONLY text. I have not included any images in any of the following pages. Each page contains a list of "phrases" that are common to that particular type of site and should trigger any decent filter. If you see the actual text your filter is not working properly. Depending on what filter you use, you should see a warning stating the follow site has been banned because it contains offensive material. If you see anything other than a warning, either your filter is not working, or you need a better filter.
